# Launch your Checkout Abandonment Flow

> Recover Shopify checkouts that don't become orders.

Checkout Abandonment flows follow up with contacts who start checkout but don't place an order. You can add email and SMS messages to the flow.

  Checkout Abandonment is available for Shopify and Shopify Plus stores. Your Shopify web pixel must have the permissions required to track checkout starts. If Privy asks for additional permissions, reconnect Shopify before publishing the flow.

## Create a new Checkout Abandonment Flow

To get started:

* Navigate to **Flows** and click **Create Flow**.
* Select **Checkout Abandonment**.
* Add a delay before your first message to control when the Flow sends.
* Add email or SMS messages and customize their content.

## Customize your Settings

Select the *Trigger* block at the top of your Flow to review its entry and exit settings.

### 1. Exit Criteria

Contacts leave the Flow when they place an order.

## Publish your Flow

Once you're happy with your new Checkout Abandonment Flow, press the **Publish** button in the upper right corner. You can [review your Flow's performance](https://help.privy.com/docs/learn/flows/reporting) at any time.
