As you get started, you may notice that in some places we use the term “signup”, and in others, “contact”. Here is a quick overview of the difference.
Contact: A contact is a single record of a unique email address.
Signup: A signup is when a contact completes the act of registration on your Privy campaign.
Note that over time, a single contact might show more than one signup. Here are a several likely reasons that could be the case:
- Testing. Maybe you or your team had been testing and registered more than once.
- A single contact registered for this campaign multiple times.
- A single contact has registered for several campaigns you run through Privy.
If a contact is showing multiple signups, you can click into that contact card to reveal their full activity with all your campaigns, as seen below:
