Sending Abandoned Cart Emails
If you're on Shopify, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce or Weebly you can easily send automated Abandoned Cart Emails to any known visitor to your site who adds an item to their cart and leaves without purchasing for up to seven days after. Follow these directions to create simple, compelling emails based on cart value and time since seen onsite that drive people back to your site to complete their purchase.
You can send newsletters and announcements to all of your mailable contacts in Privy from the Emails Tab in your dashboard or behavioral segments within your subscribers. Simply follow these directions to create beautiful branded emails that engage your current subscribers.
Sending Order Follow Up Emails
If you're on Shopify Plus, Shopify or BigCommerce, you can send post-purchase emails or a post-purchase emails series using Order Follow Up emails up to 30 days after someone has made a purchase. Anyone who makes a purchase and opts in to receive marketing emails can then be sent an email or series of emails based on the value of their purchase and the time since purchase. Sending Email Series and Coupon Reminders
In addition to newsletters, you can create automated emails like welcome series or coupon reminders tied to a specific onsite campaign from within emails step of the campaign builder. These series are kicked off when someone signs up for your campaign and send on the schedule you determine. Series are created and managed within each or your display campaigns.
Configuring Your Sending Domain
If you haven’t already set up your custom sending domain - the ability to send emails that come from your domain instead of ours - then it’s worth taking a few minutes today to get it done. This will help your open rates and deliverability because the sending address is instantly recognizable to your customers.
Importing Your Contacts
In order to import a CSV file, it is important that you have your file structured appropriately prior to importing into Privy. The following criteria are required for the importation of CSV files:
- The file must include an email address column.
- Up to 100 custom fields, in addition to your email field, can be uploaded in a csv file.
- The first row of the file must contain the column headers. Headers are not case-sensitive.
- Download an example file.
- You will need to separate your lists/files into either contacts that have opted in to receive your emails (mailable) or contacts that have unsubscribed (non-mailable). The last step of your csv import will ask you to identify your file as all the contacts either being mailable or non-mailable.
- Add a tag you would like to identify every contact in that import a certain way.
If you’re importing from Constant Contact or MailChimp, you can actually do that automatically by clicking "Import from Linked Account" on the contacts tab and our team will review and approve your list.
Customers who opted in for marketing emails when they bought from your Shopify or Weebly store will be automatically added to Privy.
Note: Privy will not approve purchased lists. In addition, imported and approved contacts now count towards your scaling email pricing. You can also manually unsubscribe a contact (an irreversible action unless the subscriber manually opts in again) if you would like to unsubscribe a small subset of your email contacts.
