Welcome! If you’re new to Privy, this guide will walk you through the essential steps to get your account set up for success.

With Privy, you can grow your subscriber list and send them targeted, personalized messaging through email and SMS campaigns and automations. You can review your performance and use that data to drive more revenue, boost your engagement, and continually optimize your marketing strategy. 1. Connect your ecommerce platform
To begin, connect Privy to your ecommerce platform. We support major platforms like Shopify, Wix BigCommerce, and more. This integration allows Privy to access your store data and provide personalized marketing solutions.2. Import your contacts
If you have existing customer contacts, import them into Privy via spreadsheet to start engaging with your audience right away.3. Register for SMS
If you’re on our Growth Plan and planning on using Privy Text, your business needs to submit a registration form to be approved for a toll-free number. You must register and be approved for your toll-free number before you can start collecting textable contacts and/or sending text messages.Toll-Free Verification

4. Set up your domain records
To ensure the best deliverability possible + brand recognition with your audience, set up your custom sending domain in Privy. Our team also recommends making sure that you have the proper DMARC, SPF, and DKIM authentication records in place so that you’re meeting Google and Yahoo’s sender requirements.5. Collect email and SMS contacts
Start growing your subscriber list with Privy Convert. Choose from a variety of templates with baked-in best practices, customize it to fit your brand, and activate on your site to start seeing results fast!Launch your first display
6. Activate an automation
Automations are emails and texts that are triggered by meaningful actions taken by your contacts, such as abandoning a cart or placing an order. These emails and texts are integral to your marketing strategy because they allow you to send personalized content to your audience without ever lifting a finger. To get started, head to Automations and click “New automation” in the upper righthand corner. Choose which kind you want to create, and start customizing your templates and settings!Explore types of Automations

7. Send your first email
Once you’ve got your sending domain set up and your list imported in Privy, you’re ready to start engaging with your audience. To send your first email, head to Campaigns and click “New email” in the upper righthand corner. Choose from one of our basic or stylized templates, customize your content with our drag-and-drop editor.Creating your first email

8. Send your first text
If you’re on our Growth Plan, you’ve been approved to start using your assigned Toll-Free Number, and you’ve started collecting textable contacts, then you’re ready to send your first text!
