After purchasing Privy Text, the first thing you will want to do is start to grow your textable phone number list. You will want to add a phone field and a text opt-in field to your campaigns to gather people’s phone numbers in a way that adheres to SMS compliance laws.
To receive a text message from Privy, a subscriber phone number has to have been collected through a Privy form phone field, and the subscriber must have check the text opt-in checkbox. Once this happens, they will receive an opt-in text (shown below) that they must reply “yes” to. Once your subscriber has opted in through the checkbox and the double opt-in compliance text message, they are able to receive After Signup Text Messages and Abandoned Cart Text messages from your company!
Note: Privy Text is only available for phone numbers with a +1 area code (phone numbers from the United States and Canada).
Sending Abandoned Cart Text Messages
If you're on Shopify, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce or Weebly you can easily send automated Abandoned Cart Text Messages to any known visitor to your site who has previously opted in to receive marketing text messages from you, and adds an item to their cart and leaves without purchasing for up to seven days after. Follow these directions to create simple, compelling emails based on cart value and time since seen onsite that drive people back to your site to complete their purchase.
Sending After Signup Text Messages
In addition to abandoned cart text messages, you can create an after signup text message to send instantaneously after someone subscribes to your campaign with their phone number and checks the text opt-in checkbox. After confirming with the double opt-in compliance message, they will receive your customized marketing message.
Importing Your Contacts
Privy does not accept imported phone numbers at textable contacts. Any phone number added to your contacts that wasn’t collected through a Privy form field with the Text Opt-In checkbox and confirmed through the double opt in text will be considered not textable. These phone numbers will not be included toward the number of textable contacts in your Privy Text subscription for billing, and will be ineligible to receive text messages until they have opted in through the checkbox and double opt in text.
