At Privy, we offer three pricing plans: Privy Growth, Privy Email, and Privy Text.
Our Privy Growth plan gives you access to our on-site display product. With Privy Growth, your pricing is based on the average monthly pageviews of all of the pages on your website.
Our Privy Email plan enables you to take advantage of our email marketing product, and your pricing is based on the number of mailable contacts in your account.
Our Privy Text plan enables you to take advantage of our text message marketing product, and your pricing is based on the number of textable contacts in your account with a cap on how many text messages used for those contacts.
How Pageviews, Campaign Views, and Sessions Count Are Different in Privy
Other metrics such as Privy campaign views or the number of sessions on your website are not the same as your website pageview count; those website metrics are calculated differently.
For example, a visitor to your site who has already signed up for a Privy campaign might not see that campaign anymore (which will not add to your campaign views), but is able to continue to view additional pages on your website (which counts as a page view).
Sessions are often defined as a group of interactions or pageviews that one user takes within a given time frame on your website, so one session could contain multiple clicks, pageviews and a purchase.
Why We Use Pageviews to Determine Pricing of Privy Growth
One of the reasons we use pageviews as a metric is because it is one of the most consistently measured metrics across all types of web tools.
For example, the Google Analytics definition of a unique visitor can be slightly different than how a different tool like Shopify defines a unique visitor. Most tools measure pageviews in the same way, which is why we use it as a metric to determine our pricing.
Using pageviews as our pricing metric allows us to approximate a price that’s appropriate for access to all of the features Privy Growth has to offer based on business size.
Privy Email Pricing
Privy Email pricing is based on the number of mailable email contacts in your account.
How Contacts and Textable Contacts Are Different in Privy
Contacts can exist in Privy where the unique identifier is the subscriber phone number. If a subscriber has provided their phone number in a Privy form and not opted in by checking the Text Opt-In checkbox, or were manually added/imported into Privy from an external system, they will be considered phone contacts, but not textable contacts (their sms_opt_in status with be false). In order to be a textable contact, you must signup through a Privy form and check the Text Opt-In checkbox. Their sms_opt_in status will read “true”. Privy Text bills based on the amount of textable contacts in your account.
How Sent Texts and Used Text Messages Are Different in Privy
In your account on the After Signup Text or Abandoned Cart Text Message itself when published, you will be able to see the amount of text messages “sent” and delivered”. This refers to the number of your customized marketing messages that were sent and delivered. For billing with Privy Text, we bill based on the number of messages used. This number includes, the required double opt-in compliance text sent to all new text message subscribers, if they respond “yes” or otherwise, and the marketing message that follows.
Average Monthly Pageviews:
We count a pageview each time a page with the Privy code installed on it loads on your website. For most customers, the Privy code is installed on every page on their site.
Mailable contacts are the contacts in your account that you have permission to email. Unmailable contacts (such as those that never opted into marketing emails, unsubscribed, marked as spam, or hard bounced) are not counted when determining pricing.
The number of contacts you have that have provided their phone number through a Privy form, have checked the Text Opt-In checkbox, and replied “yes” to the double opt in compliance text message. Your number of textable contacts will update every 12 hours on the subscription page of your account.
Used Text Messages:
The number of text messages sent and received from/to the phone number assigned to your company upon subscribing to Privy Text. This includes double opt-in compliance text messages, subscriber texts to your assigned phone number, and any after signup texts or abandoned cart texts sent thereafter. Your number of used text messages will update every 12 hours on the subscription page of your account.
How does Privy calculate my monthly pageviews?
Privy Growth pricing is based on the volume of your average monthly page views at the time that you upgrade. After you upgrade, every three months we will automatically look at your average monthly page views across those months and adjust your price tier up or down.
Where can I find my average monthly pageviews?
After you sign up for Privy, it takes us 2-3 days to determine your average monthly pageviews. Once we have calculated the average monthly pageviews, you can view your average monthly pageviews by navigating to your Subscriptions page. Just click on your profile menu in the upper right-hand corner, and select “Upgrade”.
Why is Privy Growth pricing based on average monthly pageviews?
As a Privy customer, we believe you should have access to all of our features at a price that corresponds to the reach of your company and the amount of people who will see your Privy displays.
Other vendors might charge you based on the number of unique visitors to your site or the total number of sessions. We use pageviews because it’s measured most consistently across platforms and the method least subject to change.
