This document will walk you through setting up your DNS records with GoDaddy.
Step 1: Add Sending Domain
In Privy head over to the drop-down in the upper right hand corner and click on Business Settings. On the left hand side click Sending Domains and then click the +Add Sending Domain button:
Step 2: Add Website URL
Enter your domain into the field and click Save.
Step 3: Click Verify To View Current Values
After saving you will be prompted with the following page. Clicking "Verify" will show you the expected and current values.
Step 4: Setup Records In Go Daddy
Head over to GoDaddy and navigate to the DNS management section for your domain. Click Add to add a new DNS record.
Step 5: Copy Privy Value Into GoDaddy
Switch back over to Privy and Copy the Host & Expected Value
Step 6: Paste Copied Value From Privy
Head back over to GoDaddy, select the correct record type and paste the Host into the Host Field and the Value into the Value Field. (GoDaddy will automatically add your domain to the end of the 'host' - In this example, we excluded privydomaintest1.com when entering the host in GoDaddy)
Step 7: Complete Entering All Values
When you're done it should look something like this:
Step 8: Finished!
Once the domain is fully verified it should look like this in Privy (Please note that it is okay if one record is not verified, as long as the domain itself is verified, then the process is complete):
PLEASE ALLOW FOR 48 HOURS TO PASS.
If records have not verified after 48 hours please do the following:
- Ensure that the .domainname.com was removed from your records
- Attempt the verification process again
- Contact your web host
