Checkout Abandonment flows follow up with contacts who start checkout but don’t place an order. You can add email and SMS messages to the Flow.
Checkout Abandonment is available for Shopify, Shopify Plus, and BigCommerce stores. For Shopify, the web pixel must have the permissions required to track checkout starts. If Privy asks for additional permissions, reconnect Shopify before publishing the Flow. For BigCommerce, checkout starts are captured when the Privy widget loads on the standard Optimized One-Page Checkout. Custom or headless checkout experiences aren’t supported.

Create a new Checkout Abandonment Flow

To get started:
  • Navigate to Flows and click Create Flow.
  • Select Checkout Abandonment.
  • Add a delay before your first message to control when the Flow sends.
  • Add email or SMS messages and customize their content.

Customize your Settings

Select the Trigger block at the top of your Flow to review its entry and exit settings.

Contacts leave the Flow when they place an order.

Publish your Flow

Once you’re happy with your new Checkout Abandonment Flow, press the Publish button in the upper right corner. You can review your Flow’s performance at any time.
