The Privy integration with Yotpo allows you to engage and reward your loyalty program members in various ways, including: Segment contacts by Yotpo properties, such as VIP Tier. Personalize emails and SMS with Yotpo properties, such as Points Balance. Trigger Flows based on Yotpo events, such as new Points Earned.

Setting up the integration

To connect Privy with your Yotpo account:
  • Navigate to your Settings in the lower left corner of your dashboard.
  • Head to your Integrations page, which can be found near the bottom of the left side menu.
  • Locate the Yotpo integration and click Connect, then confirm your decision.
  • Enter your Yotpo credentials to establish the connection.
Once you authorize the integration, Privy will import your Yotpo customers in the background. Import times vary depending on the number of existing Yotpo customers. It may take up to several days for a large customer set. New customers will be automatically synced in real time. You can also bulk import historical product and store review data from Yotpo so older reviews are available in Privy alongside real-time sync.

Yotpo Properties

The following properties sync from Yotpo and Privy in real time. You can use these properties to create segments and/or personalize your email and text message content.
  • Has Store Account
  • Is Affiliate
  • Is Member
  • Is Referred By Other Customer
  • Last Purchase At
  • Perks Redeemed
  • Points Balance
  • Points Earned
  • Points Expire At
  • Referrals Made and Clicked
  • Successful Referrals
  • Total Purchases
  • Total Spend Cents
  • VIP Tier Ends At
  • VIP Tier Name

Create a Custom Segment Using Yotpo Properties

You can use the properties from Yotpo to create Custom Segments of your mailable and textable contacts in Privy. You can target these segments in your Email + SMS campaigns and Flows. To create a Custom Segment using Yotpo properties:
  • Navigate to Contacts > Segments from the left side of your dashboard.
  • Click Create Segment in the upper right corner.
  • Name your Segment.
  • Click the Choose category dropdown and select one of the properties under the Yotpo category.
  • Qualify your selection as needed.
You can add other conditions to your Segment, if desired. Click Create to save your new Segment!

Personalize Emails with Yotpo Properties

To inject personalized data from Yotpo into your email, such as a contact’s point balance, use the Merge Tag function when typing your content: Once sent, your Merge Tag will populate to reflect the data associated with the recipient’s profile in Yotpo.
These fields will only populate if the recipient has values for the fields. Therefore, it’s recommended that you use segmentation that ensures a value is known. For example, the email above should be segmented to any contacts with a Yotpo points balance greater than 1 to ensure a value will populate.

Personalize SMS with Yotpo Properties

To inject personalized data from Yotpo into your text message, such as a contact’s VIP Tier, use the Merge Tag function when writing your message: Once sent, your Merge Tag will populate to reflect the data associated with the recipient’s profile in Yotpo.
These fields will only populate if the recipient has values for the fields. Therefore, it’s recommended that you use segmentation that ensures a value is known. For example, the Text Message above should be segmented to any contacts with a Yotpo points balance greater than 1 to ensure a value will populate.

Yotpo Events

The following events sync from Yotpo to Privy in real time. You can use these events to trigger automated Email + SMS Flows and react to your customer’s actions with personalized messages.
  • Customer Birthday
  • Points Reminder
  • VIP Tier Earned
  • VIP Tier Lost
  • Points Changed
  • Points Earned
  • Review Created

Trigger Flows by a Yotpo Event

Building a Flow that triggers after a Yotpo event is a great way to automate your retention strategy. You can send personalized messages in response to milestones such as your customer’s birthday, or when they reach a new VIP Tier with more exclusive perks. To build this Flow:
  • Navigate to Flows from your dashboard.
  • Click Create Flow in the upper right corner.
  • Select the Integration Event option from the following menu.
  • Click Customize Flow to continue.
Once you’re in the Flow builder, you’ll need to choose which event you want to trigger your Flow.
  • Click the dropdown menu under Integration Event on the right side of the builder.
  • Select your event.
From here, you can start building your Flow by adding time delays, emails, texts, splits, Tag Contact actions, and more. Check out this resource if you need guidance on how to use our Flow builder.

Disconnecting the integration

To disconnect your Privy and Yotpo integration:
  • Navigate to your Settings in the lower left corner of your dashboard.
  • Head to your Integrations page, which can be found near the bottom of the left side menu.
  • Locate the Yotpo integration and click Edit Integration.
  • Click Disconnect to confirm your decision.
