For all Shopify Plus and Shopify customers, Privy will now automatically sync Privy subscribed email contacts into your Customers list within your Shopify account.
Without having to add an Automation Rule to your onsite campaigns or having to change any settings, your new Privy onsite campaign signups will automatically be synced to Shopify as a mailable contact (from the moment your integration is set up with Shopify and onward).
The email address as well as the first and last name (if detected by form fields) will be synced over from your Privy onsite campaign signup to your Customers list in Shopify.
All contacts collected by a Privy onsite campaign and synced to your Shopify customers list will be marked as "customer accepts email marketing". The following are the only exceptions:
- If you add an Opt-In Form Field to your Privy onsite campaign, this will require someone to have the opt-in checkbox checked in order to signify they would like to receive your marketing emails.
In the event that an email subscriber signs up to your Privy campaign with that checkbox unchecked, they will be synced over to your Shopify Customers list as "customer does not accept email marketing."
- If a customer, after initial signup, unsubscribes through a Privy onsite campaign, autoresponder email, newsletter email, or other Privy email, then their contact data in Shopify will be automatically updated to reflect that the "customer does not accept email marketing" preference.
