Whenever you design a campaign with Privy one of your considerations should be who is eligible to take advantage of your offer. Look at it this way: You don’t always want absolutely everyone to be able to sign up for your campaign. Here’s an example. Let’s say I’m giving away 100 shirts to the first 100 individuals that visit my site and enter their email address. What if one of those individuals enters their email twice in an effort to get two t-shirts? Catch our drift? We’ve designed Privy to give you some control over who and who cannot take advantage of your offer. We call these controls validations. They help you keep the reins on your offer. You can set this and forget about it once you’re done. To set these up do the following:
From the main page in your Privy account click on the icon for the campaign that you want to make changes to.
After selecting your campaign, select the “Form” option on the upper left just beneath your campaign’s title. Then, select validations.
The validations that you can use are:
- Limit one signup per email address — Prevents your customer from signing up more than once with the same email address:
- First-time signups only — This setting only allows someone to sign up if they have never been listed as part of your Privy Contacts before. If someone has already taken advantage of one of your previous Privy campaigns they will see the following:
- Supply limit- end campaign after X number of signups. If you’re giving an item away as part of your campaign offer, you can automatically close your campaign after a predetermined amount of signups. With this enabled, once the limit has been reached, your campaign will no longer display on your site.
Please note: you can enable all of these validations at the same time or use then in isolation depending on your preference. Once you’ve made the selections most appropriate for your purpose you can click on “Save changes” on the upper right corner of the validation option settings.
