This document will walk you through setting up your DNS records with Domain.com.
Step 1: Add Sending Domain
In Privy head over to the drop-down in the upper right hand corner and click on Business Settings. On the left hand side click Sending Domains and then click the +Add Sending Domain button:
Step 2: Add website URL
In the dialogue box that appears paste in your website URL:
Step 3: Verify domain
Click the Verify button on the right hand side to show your current values and expected values:
Step 4: Current Values
Before entering any information into your domain, there will be no values found. We will be fixing this by coping the host (name) and the data information over to domain.com
Step 5: Setup records in Domain.com
In Domain.com, click the Add DNS Record button to start adding your DNS records:
Step 6: Paste copied TXT value from Privy
In the Name field please paste the host information that is found in Privy, and paste the expected value to the content value field:
Step 7: Add CNAME record
In the Name field please paste the host information that is found in Privy, and paste the expected value to the cname field:
Step 8: Complete entering all values
Your DNS setup should look like this after you have entered all the values from Privy into Domain.com:
Step 9: Finished!

Normally, we’d suggest to copy and paste the entire host value like so (we have used a test domain in the example below, your records would not be the same as this and will include your domain):
In some cases, depending on the domain host, the DNS records will not fully verify when the domain is included upon being entered (There is nothing that will indicate this on either end).
What we recommend to troubleshoot is removing the domain from each host value we provide. Using the example above it should be changed to the following:
When the provided DNS records are entered into the domain host correctly it should verify immediately. In some cases there may be a delay but there is no way to determine this other than allowing up to 48 hours to pass.
Please note that it's okay if the TXT record for scph1218._domainkey is not verified. In some cases your domain will use their DKIM.
If records have not verified after 48 hours please do the following:
- Attempt the verification process again
- Contact your web host
