Whether you are new to Privy Email or are interested in making the switch from Mailchimp because of the removal of their Shopify integration, this article will highlight the features that you can utilize in Privy Emails based on our Shopify integration.
Check out this webinar for more details on what the Shopify & Mailchimp Breakup means for you.
Privy After Signup Emails
When someone enters into an after signup email flow in Privy by signing up for an onsite campaign, they will be taken out of the flow and will not receive subsequent emails in that flow if they make a purchase from your Shopify store. This purchase will be attributed as an "Order" for the onsite campaign in which the Autoresponder flow is a part.
Privy's onsite campaigns can also be targeted at Shopify site visitors based on the following targets. This way, the autoresponder emails being sent to them are also only sent to the people who fall into these parameters.
Privy Newsletter Emails
Newsletter emails allow the capability to use filters to create custom audiences to receive each email. Below is a chart of all of the filters that are applicable to a newsletter campaign to create these custom segments.
Privy Abandoned Cart Emails
Privy’s Abandoned Cart Emails can be sent to any contact who has either signed up on a Privy form OR any contact who has reached the checkout page and entered through the Shopify checkout flow for up to seven days after. Shopify's out of the box option is the same as what Mailchimp previously offered for checkout abandonment with the integration, but there is still a large portion of your carts that will be unidentifiable in this scenario if you opt for this replacement as opposed to Privy's Abandoned Cart Emails.
With Privy, anyone who abandons their cart on your site who is known by Privy will receive an Abandoned Cart email regardless of whether or not they have gotten far enough in checkout to have submitted their email address. The only way for someone to receive an Abandoned Cart email in Shopify is for the person to type their email in the email field of checkout and proceed to the next step of checkout, and then abandon their cart. Many people don't get that far before leaving your site and abandoning.
You can use tools like cart URL personalization where you can create a link or button to direct someone back to their cart with their exact abandoned items preloaded in their cart, or add a cart summary block to list up to five items with titles and images of what the person has left. Privy Purchase Follow-Up Emails
With Privy, you can create a personalized purchase follow-up email series based on various parameters to display to show customer appreciation and drive customers back to your site.
