eCommerce Segmentation for Privy Email
The outlined functionality of Privy email below is no longer available through Mailchimp email for Shopify stores because of their removal of the Shopify integration. Please refer to the eCommerce section of this Mailchimp article to see what features are no longer available to Shopify stores without the integration.
Privy Autoresponder Emails
When someone enters into an Autoresponder email flow in Privy by signing up for an onsite campaign, they will be taken out of the flow and will not receive subsequent emails in that flow if they make a purchase from your Shopify store. This purchase will be attributed as a "Redemption" for the onsite campaign in which the Autoresponder flow is a part of.
Privy's onsite campaigns can also be targeted at Shopify site visitors based on the following targets. This way, the autoresponder emails being sent to them are also only sent to the people who fall into these parameters.
Please note that some of these targets are limited to certain paid plans.
Privy Newsletter Emails
Newsletter emails allow the capability to use filters to create custom audiences to receive each email. Below is a chart of all of the filters that are applicable to a newsletter campaign to create these custom segments.
Privy Abandoned Cart Emails
There was always a distinction between Privy Abandoned Cart Emails versus Mailchimp and Shopify Abandoned Checkout Emails. That being said, now with the removal of the Shopify integration, the ability to send these Abandoned Checkout emails from Mailchimp no longer exists.
Shopify's out of the box option is the same as what Mailchimp previously offered for checkout abandonment with the integration, but there is still a large portion of your carts that will be unidentifiable in this scenario if you opt for this replacement as opposed to Privy's Abandoned Cart Emails.
With Privy, anyone who abandons their cart on your site who is known by Privy will receive an Abandoned Cart email regardless of whether or not they have gotten far enough in checkout to have submitted their email address. The only way for someone to receive an Abandoned Cart email in Shopify is for the to type their email in the email field of checkout and proceed to the next step of checkout, and then abandon their cart. Many people don't get that far before leaving your site and abandoning.
Privy Order Follow Up Emails
Anyone who makes a purchase from your Shopify or Bigcommerce store will receive an Order Follow Up email. With Privy, you can create an order follow up email series with minimum and maximum purchase values to display more personalized messages to show appreciation to your customers and drive customers back to your site.
